About Us

Montserrat Connection CIC works to strengthen and reconnect the Montserratian community.

Our work is rooted in the experiences of people who were displaced following the volcanic activity in Montserrat in 1995 and the generations that have grown up since. We recognise the lasting impact of loss, bereavement, displacement and trauma, as well as the importance of maintaining identity, relationships and a strong sense of community.

We bring people together to build stronger connections between generations, create opportunities for older and younger people to share knowledge and experience, and improve access to wellbeing support, advice and community resources.

Our vision is a connected, confident and resilient Montserratian community where older generations are valued, younger people are supported to become future leaders, and everyone has opportunities to participate and thrive.

What We Do

Community & Networking Events

We organise welcoming events that bring Montserratians and the wider community together. These create opportunities to build relationships, reconnect with others, share experiences and strengthen community networks.

Intergenerational Connection

We create opportunities for older and younger generations to meet, share knowledge, stories, culture and experience. We want to ensure that the history and experiences of one generation can help shape and inspire the next.

Leadership Development

We support young people and emerging leaders to develop confidence, skills and networks so they can play an active role in the future of the Montserratian community.

Wellbeing & Community Support

We provide opportunities for people to access wellbeing activities, advice, information and support. This includes dedicated wellbeing activities and retreats designed to create space for reflection, connection and recovery.

Community Festival & Cultural Events

Our festival and wider programme of events celebrate Montserratian culture, identity and community while creating opportunities for networking, sponsorship, participation and wider engagement.

Our Impact

We aim to create measurable change by:

  • Reducing isolation and strengthening community connections

  • Creating meaningful connections between older and younger generations

  • Supporting young people to develop as future community leaders
